All tow operators have experienced the problems of having traffic backed up with a truck down a ravine and the law enforcement not wanting you to black lanes of traffic or on a tight narrow road with no possible way to get your recovery unit turned around and squared up to the vehicle you need to extract.  The SP850-XP option can solve these problems with a hydraulic pivoting stiff-leg to handle tough side pull recovering without shutting down the highway.  This European designed and proven technology is available with a combination of winch options on your new 7035 or 9055..

All recovery operators have experienced the problems of having traffic backed up with a casualty down in a ravine and the law enforcement not wanting to block lanes of traffic. The SP 850-XP option can solve these types of situations with a pivoting hydraulic stiff leg to handle tough side pull recoveries and eliminate the need to block more lanes of traffic than necessary.
  

The SP 850-XP hydraulic legs fold in flush with the body to give you maximum tool box space while giving your truck a sleek and stylish look.

 

  
The 35,000 lb. planetary winches are low mounted in the XP's main frame with the winch line running through a pulley and up through a pivoting sheave head to ensure proper cable winding from all angles. 

 


  

SP 850-XP RECOVERY UNIT

The SP 850-XP is offered in two models using the Century 7035 and the Century 9055. The SP 850-XP's standard features will be the same when ordering the recovery unit with either the 7035 or 9055. Refer to the 7035/9055 brochure for specifications on those units.

CHASSIS RECOMMENDATIONS

Contacting the factory is highly recommended when matching a chassis with the various XP models. A minimum of 204" CT is required. A 14,600 lb. front axle and a tandem 40,000 lb. rear axle is a minimum requirement, however a front axle of 18,000 lb. to 20,000 lb. along with tri-axles may be required.
  

The new SP 850-XP allows the operator to run the two winch cables from the XP unit to snatch blocks on the boom allowing a total of four winch lines. into a spade position for softer terrain applications.

The swivel feet may be used as a flat pad for hard packed surfaces or the operator may flip the plunger pin and lock the pad into a spade position for softer terrain applications.
